School renovation project in Tonga
In 2014 The Akanesi Mataitonga Trust took on the challenging project of renovating a primary school in the village of Tokomololo in Tonga. Funds were gathered through UK-based activities including sponsored walks, runs, quiz nights, and raffles from family and colleagues.
The school buildings required significant repairs due to structural deterioration and safety concerns. The project involved international coordination across three countries, donated materials shipped globally, and local craftspeople engaged for renovation and maintenance work.
